Resto Talent Play

I have again been experimenting with my talent lineup. Why? I want to see if there is anything different that may fit my style and assignment a little more.

The 11/0/60 is concidered the "standard" build for most restoration druids and is listed on the One Druid, Many Worlds page. I think I may be a little set in my healer ways and have never looked to healing touch to save the day. Sydera at World of Matticus has suggested a Dreamstate centric build. This build is good for 25 man content while healing alongside another resto druid. I can't say I'll be in a 25 man any time soon, and normally my healing partner isn't a druid.

What I had been using earlier in the week was this 15/0/56 build. I'm not so much a fan. Replenish will need a major boost before I look at it again and I put a lot of my attention to the main tanks (who in all honesty aren't rage/rp starved). The thorns is great for tanks who may need a threat boost but the ones I've been running with haven't had too much trouble with that...so the improved thorns feels like a wasted talent point to me. If you're curious as to why anyone would pick up thorns here is Phaelia's explanation.

This 14/0/57 build is what I'm going to be playing with for the time being. I'm currently wearing 4T7 and am normally a tank healer. I liken nourish to be a regrowth without the extra bit of hot on the end. It even costs less mana than regrowth and casts a little faster. So long as full hots are rolling on my tank(s) nourish can be nearly as powerful as regrowth itself...or at least that's what I'm looking for it to do.

Thinking about it, I may as well talk a little bit about a more raid-heal friendly build...otherwise known as a healing touch build. It's also a 14/0/57 however this time improved regrowth has been completely ignored. Since a resto druid would be focusing more on the raid itself a strong single target heal will be needed and the extra hot on the end of regrowth may be wasted. Throw in a little bit of wild growth for aoe damage and you may be a pretty good raid healer. Huh? Raid healing from a druid? Go figure.
